About The MARR, AITKEN, WATTS Family Tree
LATEST NEWS TP has now
enabled the upload of multi-page & other types of documents (eg. sound, video, etc.).
I have now completed transferring all such files to within TP itself, and therefore
no longer use the Skydrive facility.
All in all, this amounts to over 100 such files and a total of over 700Mb of
disc space.

GENERATIONS COVERED BY
THIS
FAMILY TREE
This family-tree primarily encompasses the direct-line
ancestors, and
their siblings, of Ian MARR, Roberta AITKEN, Benjamin WATTS-MARR
and Chloe WATTS-MARR.
Beginning in 2016, certain images, such as Electoral Rolls and Census Returns, have not
been
included in the tree, but are
available in the Alternative Family Tree (see below). Each of these, however, is detailed in
the Sources
and Person Notes for the
relevant people.
ALTERNATE FAMILY TREE A more extensive tree is also maintained at
Ancestry.com. This
tree extends beyond the scope of
this one, and therefore contains more people. All relevant images ARE included in that tree,
but
unfortunately, due to Ancestry's
own limitations, Notes are not displayed. The Ancestry tree is a public tree and can be found
at: Marr/Aitken/Watts Family Tree

The main branches of
this tree are MARR, AITKEN and WATTS. It has been grown from the perspective of the grandchildren of
Ian John MARR and Roberta Lily AITKEN - hence the inclusion of the WATTS branch.
|
|
The MARR branch (me) eminates from the Midlothian area in
Scotland and has been traced back to John MARR, born probably mid 1700's. John married
Elizabeth GALLOWAY. His grandson, Adam Bogue MARR; born 1814 in South Leith,
Midlothian, Scotland came to Australia in 1841 aboard the Marquis of Bute.
|
The AITKEN side (my wife) came from Ayrshire, Scotland and
has been traced back to John Rodden AITKEN, born mid 1800's. He married Mary
DEVARET. Their son, Daniel Rodden AITKEN came to Australia in
1927 aboard the SS Bendigo. |
|
|
The
WATTS line (the grand-children) was centred around Barnstaple, Devon, England. It has been
traced back to Henry WATTS, born 1812. Henry married Elizabeth GUBB;
they came to Australia in 1852 aboard the Persian.

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
